Missy Elliott, Da Brat and Cathy Hughes remind me what sisterhood is about in this Black Girl Magic Moment at the Urban One Honors in Washington D.C.
In 1980, Cathy Hughes started Radio One, which has grown to Urban One – a network of TV and Radio Stations and on MLK Day, she recognized other women pioneers in the media and entertainment industry at the annual event.
My girl Missy Elliott has had such an amazing comeback 2019 – 2020 so I was so excited to watch her take the stage to accept the Music Innovation award. But I was not ready to see my favorite female rapper and producer break down in tears while explaining her struggle with Graves Disease.
