On Tuesday, April 6th, MSNBC legal analyst and commentator Midwin Charles passed at age 47. The cause of Charles’ death has not yet been made public. Her death was announced as a statement made by a family member, posted on her Twitter account:

Midwin Charles was raised in Brooklyn, NY in a Haitian-American family. Charles attended Syracuse University for her undergraduate and American University for her law degree. She was the founder of her own law firm, Midwin Charles & Associates LLC, and often appeared on The Wendy Williams Show, SiriusXM, MSNBC and several other media platforms. She was a bright and brilliant woman and had a memorable analysis on media and law.
