Michelle Obama’s “Becoming” is on track to be the best selling autobiography ever, selling 10 million copies since its release in November 2018.
Thanks to these sales, Bertelsmann’s Penguin Random House division’s annual revenue has increased 2.8%. Bertelsmann CEO Thomas Rabe said in a conference, “That makes it our most notable creative success of last year.”
The 183-year-old publishing company hopes this success is foreshadowing for former president Barack Obama, who is set to release his White House memoir with Penguin Random House. There is no set release date yet but the publisher hopes to publish the book this year.
