Youth participating in the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council, Youth Voice-One Vision,  assembled a 300 piece mosaic mural in recognition of Everyone Matters Day. Participants painted the tiles with the words “I am” followed by a statement they felt described themselves.
The finished mural will be on display at the City of Rochester Recreation Bureau main office at 400 Dewey for several weeks and will later travel to several other locations in the city such as City Hall and various R-Centers.

IMG_2040Everyone Matters Day was created by the non-profit Everyone Matters, which produces multi-platform awareness and engagement campaigns to advocate for everyone’s right to be who they are, regardless of gender, age, weight, skin color, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or physical limitations. These campaigns are combined with an empowering message affirming individuality, self-acceptance and pride-in-identity.IMG_2039

Youth Voice-One Vision collaborated with Art Force Five from Alfred University and the Everyone Matters initiative for this project.
