Mars Rocket Prototype Test Flight Ends In Fireball

Space X has been testing a new prototype rocket that will hopefully take the first humans to mars in the near future, but they still have work to do.
In the most recent test of the Starship S9 rocket, the vehicle shot a few miles into the air, hovered for a bit and then did a belly flop maneuver, coming to an almost perfect landing back on the launch pad.
Unfortunately, at that point the rocket burst into flames and exploded for reasons unknown.
John Insprucker was present during SpaceX’s livestream of the event and said:
“We demonstrated the ability to transition the engines to the landing propellant tanks, the subsonic reentry looked very good and stable. We’ve just got to work on that landing a little bit.”
