An elderly Ohio man is being charged with murder after shooting a 61 year old female Uber driver that was instructed to pick up a package from the man’s address.
Reports say both individuals were both victims of a phone scam.
After an Investigation it was later found the man received a call about a relative that was locked up and was demanded to pay $12,000 and threatened to kill him.
The woman was also contacted by the same caller and was instructed through the Uber app to pick a package from the man’s address. When the 81 year old man saw the victim he pulled out a gun and she tried to explain her reasoning on picking up a package moments later she was shot dead.
Both people were not aware that the same person contacted them.
