M.L.K. Jr. POOL TABLE now in Rochester

Remarkably, the pool table that Martin Luther King Jr. played on for three years while he was a seminary student has been recovered and fully restored.
What’s even more amazing is that this historic artifact will be unveiled tomorrow at 1:00 pm at 18 Grove Place which is located, right here, in Rochester, NY.
Joining in the unveiling will be Dr. James Beshai – MLK Jr.’s classmate at Crozer Theological Seminary. MLK Jr. and Dr. Beshai met at Crozer and remained life long friends after their graduation.
“What many folks are not aware of is that Dr. King developed a love for the game of billiards while at Crozer and on this very pool
table.”
“Additionally, what many do not know is that throughout the civil right movement, King would visit billiard halls throughout this country and recruit people into the civil right
movement.”
“Similarly I hope, 70 years after King’s graduation from Crozer, that this exhibit will ‘recruit’ people into greater advocacy for the civil rights of others – which is needed now more than ever”… said civil rights attorney Van White.
