A Long Island man tried to fake his death to avoid going to jail. This sounds like a good Dumb Dumb Of The Day story.
The man identified as Rodger Berger was busted after his lawyers submitted a death certificate with typos that made prosecutors suspicious.
The fake death certificate was made to look like it’s from New Jersey and misspelled the word “Registry” instead it was spelled “Regsitry”, there was also inconsistencies with the fronts on the fake death certificate.
New Jersey Department of Health, Vitatal Statistic Registry confirmed that the death certificate was fake.
When police caught up with Berger he was found in jail outside of Philadelphia for a unrelated crime.
