Local Leaders Recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October marks Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the Willow Domestic Violence Center has joined Monroe County to spread the word that victims are not alone and help is available 24/7. According to a recent report, there were close to 5,000 reports of domestic violence in Monroe County in 2021, including five homicides. Meaghan de Chateauvieux, president and CEO of Willow Domestic Violence Center, stated: “Every stat tells a story. Every number represents a real life — real people right here in our community.”
