Local Basketball Fixture in Need of a Kidney

Written by on April 4, 2021

Gerard Iglesia, a Rochester basketball fixture, who coached and taught in the local area for decades, is in need of a kidney. Iglesia has kidney disease and was just released from the hospital after fighting pneumia in intensive care for 21 days.

Iglesia tells reporters:
“I’ve had so many kids, my old students, reaching out to me and my old players, saying ‘you told us you gotta push through this, you gotta fight.’ That was very motivating and it gave me more energy.”
