LL Cool J releases new fashion line: Rock the Bells

Written by on February 2, 2020

On Tuesday, James Todd Smith, better known as LL Cool J, launched a new fashion line of limited-edition apparel and accessories, which he has named Rock the Bells. ‘Rock the Bells’ is also the title of one of LL Cool J’s hit songs from his debut album. Appropriately named, the clothing line is a throwback to the original hip-hop era that LL Cool J was a part of. The line features pieces such as T-shirts, hoodies, jackets, jewelry and more.

While he and members of his Rock the Bells design team created the pieces for the line, he said that hip-hop culture itself should get the real credit because that is what they were trying to embody and represent with the line.

Every piece of the collection has a story that represents the classic hip-hop era. Some parts pay tribute to trends during the period, such as the Drip Ts, which he described as an “ode to graffiti.” Other pieces feature fashion trends from traditional hip-hop culture, such as the Fat Cap Ts, the medallion hoodies, and the four elements sweatshirts.

Pieces from the collection can be purchased from the Rock the Bells website. The price range for the collection is $45 to $275.
