JOANN to Close All Rochester Stores Following Bankruptcy Auction Approval
Written by Site Hub on February 25, 2025
JOANN, the popular craft retailer, has announced going-out-of-business sales at all locations, pending approval of a weekend auction that will transfer ownership of the company’s assets.
The company previously announced the closure of 530 underperforming stores but has now confirmed a full shutdown.
GA Joann Retail Partnership won the auction, acquiring all of JOANN’s assets.
A court hearing on Wednesday will determine the final approval of the deal.
If approved, going-out-of-business sales will begin immediately in stores, online, and via the JOANN mobile app.
Gift cards will be accepted only through the end of February, while special discounts and returns are no longer available.
This move follows JOANN’s second bankruptcy filing within a year, mirroring similar struggles faced by Big Lots, which also recently announced widespread store closures.
