Inner Loop North Transformation Project to Host First Design Meeting Tuesday

Written by on March 12, 2024

The Inner Loop North transformation project will host its inaugural public meeting for the design phase on Tuesday night. This initiative follows the completion of the Inner Loop East project in 2017, which aimed at revitalizing downtown Rochester by converting portions of the old Inner Loop. The new project seeks to reconnect Downtown Rochester with adjacent neighborhoods, the Public Market, and High Falls, enhancing pedestrian and bicycle access, creating green spaces, and promoting equitable economic and community development. This effort aligns with Rochester’s ROC the Riverway program and the Downtown Revitalization Initiative, marking a significant step towards transforming the city’s downtown and surrounding areas. The design phase’s completion will lead to a bidding process for construction and development, with construction expected to begin in 2027. The public kickoff meeting and workshop will be held at the World of Inquiry School and is accessible virtually via Zoom.
