Howard University Students are Protesting Poor Housing Conditions
Written by Site Hub on October 25, 2021
Students at Howard University are now entering their second week of sit-ins, as they protest the school’s poor housing conditions and continue to fight for answers from the campus administration. Since the beginning of this fall semester, students say they’ve raised multiple concerns regarding mold in the walls of their dorms, the lack of COVID-19 testing for students, and the overall safety on campus. There are roughly 2,700 rooms on campus, and as of last month alone, mold has been found in 34 rooms on campus.
Howard University released a statement via Twitter:

Students responded back to their statement, saying that Howard does not care for their students:
Howard’s Admin looked us in our faces and said there was no BLACK MOLD in their school. These photos are from a bathroom at Howard. Do something @HowardU NOW! https://t.co/l4hR4dwTta pic.twitter.com/gq8aYkKkAo
