Holiday Shopping Begins in Rochester Malls

Written by on November 12, 2021

It may only be mid-November, but tis’ the season for all the holiday shopping. At places such as Eastview mall, holiday shopping is in full swing. Eastview Mall general manager Mike Kauffman stated: “October was a really good month for us typically October is kind of a slow month but what we have seen with shoppers this year is people are getting out because there is some question about running out of merchandise.”

Shoppers are well aware of the possible shortage of products, and one person to comment on this is Steven Carnovale, professor of supply chain management at the Rochester Institute of Technology’s Saunders College of Business. Carnovale stated: “It is just going to be so chaotic this holiday season. We have been doing the best job we can to signal if you want something buy it sooner rather than later and retailers are responding by having Black Friday specials and things like that a lot sooner than they would have previously but there are going to be shortages one way or the other.”
