Henrietta Becomes Battleground for Planned Parenthood Debate
Written by Site Hub on June 25, 2022
Planned Parenthood has proposed an area in Henrietta to be the site of its new facility. However, the Henrietta Town Board struck down its proposal. On paper, the site was rejected due to high traffic concerns. Some town officials suspect the politicized nature of PP’s work to be the real reason for the rejection. Henrietta Town Supervisor Steve Schulz said that the nearly seven-hour long meeting was focused mostly on abortion instead of the intended purpose of the meeting, which was to discuss land usage. Planned Parenthood is still pursuing areas in both Henrietta and Brighton to construct a new facility.
