Written by on March 3, 2022

Remember in the quarantine era wherein ordering food you could order alcohol to go? Well, it looks like Governor Kathy Houchl wants to bring that option back for New Yorkers. Yesterday morning, Governor Hochul not only her proposal to make booze takeout permanent but also discussed how they’re trying to streamline businesses getting their liquor licenses. According to Governor Houchl, the State Liquor Authority is budgeted to add 39 more employees to help process the estimated 75 thousand liquor license applications a year. At the current moment, the temporary to-go alcohol executive order is effective through June 5th, with the permanent order lumped into the proposed budget.
