Governor Hochul Secures Tentative Agreement to End 11-Day Work Stoppage at State Correctional Facilities

Both sides have reached a tentative agreement to address the concerns of correction officers, as confirmed by Governor Kathy Hochul’s office.

This follows an 11-day walkout at 36 facilities, where officers protested unbearable working conditions despite lacking the authority to strike.

A special mediator was brought in to facilitate negotiations. Under the agreement, workers are required to return by March 1.
