Written by on October 18, 2022

For this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Governor Kathy Hochul signed new legislation aimed at helping breast cancer survivors. This new law would provide the proper insurance coverage for women who choose to have reconstructive surgery after undergoing a mastectomy. Governor Hochul stated that it’s time for breast cancer survivors to be treated with dignity and respect by the healthcare system.

Roughly one in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer over the course of their life.
