Fundraiser Held to Raise Money for the Minister Franklin D. Florance Civil Rights Park

This weekend, a fundraiser for the Franklin D. Florence Civil Rights Park was held at the Spiritus Christi Church. The Minister Franklin D. Florence Civil Rights Park is being developed at Baden Park by the Spiritus Anti-Racism Coalition and the Black Community Focus Fund.

Dr. Wilson, who serves as the president and CEO of the Children’s Defense Fund, stated at the event; “In order to do things like putting direct access to resources into the hands of families we know based upon the expanded child tax credit, how families will use them to buy groceries, to make sure they’re meeting the needs on a basic level, expand opportunities for their children for afterschool programs they didn’t have access to, that these are critical supports to families that are living in poverty.”
