Dr. Lesli Myers-Small, former Superintendent of the Rochester City School District (RCSD), has been appointed as the Interim Executive Director of the Police Accountability Board (PAB) in Rochester, New York. She will begin her role on June 24, pending confirmation by the City Council. The PAB highlighted her leadership experience and commitment to diversity and equity as key factors in their selection.
Dr. Myers-Small was the first Black woman to serve as RCSD superintendent, a position she held during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her tenure ended following a separation agreement with the district, which occurred after an investigation into a harassment complaint and a no-confidence vote linked to increased violence in the district.
The Executive Director role, previously held by Sherry Walker-Cowart since January 2023, offers a salary range of $97,769 to $128,918 annually.
