The department of homeland security and the FBI are investigating a vicious malware hack directed at the Victor School District.
According to limited reports that don’t compromise the investigation, Victor School Superintendent Tim Terranova said that the hack has closed the district for the time being, but hopes to bring students back in as soon as Monday.
Grades 4-12 were held virtually on Friday and no students were present in the junior and high schools.
“I can’t overemphasize the importance of our groups,” Terranova said, referring to the work of the Genesee Valley/Wayne-Finger Lakes Educational Technology Service, which has been “rebuilding the system.”
