Facebook Blocked in Russia

In an attempt to block freedom of speech, Facebook has been blocked in Russia. Parent company Meta says it is rushing to try to restore Facebook’s service in the country, but currently, it is unsure whether or not it is live again. The blocking of Facebook also means the blocking of Instagram. White House press secretary Jen Psaki commented on the ban, stating: “There are concerning steps they have taken to crack down on any form of information being shared with the public. This is a pattern…We are deeply concerned about this and concerned about the threat on freedom of speech in the country.”
