The grace period is over for New York State expired documents like driver’s licenses, registrations, and inspections. You have until the Nov. 3 deadline to get your car paperwork in order. After that, it will no longer be valid. If you’re pulled over with an expired document after Nov. 3, you could be issued a ticket. Even if you can get an appointment for an inspection, you may have difficulty getting one at the DMV. Some drivers are saying they may have to wait months before they can get in.
