Eight-Year-Old Drowns in Hotel Pool

An investigation is underway after an eight-year-old girl drowned in a hotel pool this past Saturday night.
Jamielath Kabba was attending a birthday party at the Residence Inn in Henrietta when she went swimming with three others and drifted into the deep end of the pool. Deputies believe she was under the water for at least 11 minutes while the three others she was with frantically searched for her.
A man found Kabba, got her out of the pool, and performed CPR until rescue crews arrived. The girl was rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead an hour later.
