Well, it looks like some of the Dr. Seuss books will be getting makeovers. Dr. Suess Enterprises will stop selling and publishing 6 Dr. Suess books.
The reason they say they will no longer publish the books is the imagery the books contain are insensitive. Dr. Suess Enterprise told The Associated Press that they portray certain groups of people in a hurtful way. This comes on the birthday of the late author and illustrator.
The company said, “Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprises’ catalog represents and supports all communities and families.”
The list of books that are affected:
- And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street
- If I Ran The Zoo
- McElligot’s Pool
- On Beyond Zebra!
- Scrambled Eggs Super!
- The Cat’s Quizzer
