DMX To Use His Music To Get Out Of Jail

DMX has been in jail since January when his bail was revoked by U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff for failing to abide by the conditions of his release on bail. X’s attorney said he wants the rappers music to be played in the courtroom at his sentencing.
Earl Simmons aka DMX’s attorney Murray Richmond said he wants Judge Rakoff to listen to “Slippin” and “The Convo” at the sentencing so he can “understand him genuinely in his voice” because X can become too emotional to speak.
According to Billboard the rapper is to appear in court Thursday for his sentencing in which he faces up to 5 years in prison for tax evasion, which he plead guilty to.
Prosecutors want Judge Rakoff “to send the message to this defendant and others that star power does not entitle someone to a free pass.”
DMX’s lawyer is recommending a “unique resolution,” such as a 60-day study by qualified consultants, opposed to jail time. He argued DMX’s need to return to the stage in order make money to pay back the $1.7 million in taxes and to support his 15 children.
Damn I forgot he had 15 kids…. Wow.
Anyways, X’s attorney also said the reason for wanting his music played in front of the judge, “We are not here or desirous of molding him into what some may want to see; Earl is uniquely him and that is both his beauty of mind and his genius.”
Okay #Frontliners what are your thoughts? Do you feel this is a good or bad idea?
