DMX Official Cause of Death Released

DMX, aka Earl Simmons, was first hospitalized on April 3rd after suffering a reported drug overdose and a heart attack, and unfortunately passed on April 9th of this year. It was released yesterday that DMX passed away from a cocaine-induced heart attack which ultimately cut off the blood flow to his brain. This news comes from Vulture, who spoke with a source from the Westchester County medical examiner’s office. The source also told Vulture that an analysis of his urine showed cocaine was in his system, as well as an acute cocaine intoxication, causing a chain of events leading to his death. An autopsy was not performed on Simmons by the medical examiner’s office, and his death was determined through the documentation by medical professionals and police.
