Devastating Tragedy at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival In Houston: 8 Confirmed Dead And Many Injured

On Friday night at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival in Houston, at least eight people were killed and many others were injured after a crowd surged toward the stage. While the crowd surge is still being investigated, local fire chief Sam Peña said “the crowd surged towards the stage, crushing those at the front who were unable to escape.” An estimated 50,000 people attended Astroworld Festival at NRG Park.
The incident broke out at about 9 pm CT, where video recordings of the event show Travis Scott on-stage looking confused as an ambulance with flashing lights moves into the packed crowd.
