Daniel Prude’s Family and Community Advocates Continue to Call for Change One Year Later
Written by Site Hub on September 3, 2021
It wasn’t until September 2nd, 2020 that the death of Daniel Prude became public knowledge. Daniel Prude died on March 30, 2020, only one week after a horrific encounter with Rochester Police on Jefferson Avenue. Now, an exact year later to the day after they came forward with information about his death, Daniel Prude’s family, as well as other community advocates, made their statements that they are not satisfied with the changes that have been made in police policy and they want more to be done.
Members of Free the People ROC and Joe Prude, Daniel Prude’s brother, stood outside the Public Safety Building yesterday, calling for justice. Joe Prude stated: “The conflict I have with my family about all this is when it’s going to be resolved. I have no answers for them. And they’re still walking around, getting a paycheck, while my family ain’t getting nothing but damn pain.”
