Cuomo Said New York State Expected To Receive Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced New York state is expecting to receive 170,000 doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine starting this weekend. The federal government, the state will distribute them to each region based on the population of nursing home residents. Staff members and high-risk hospital workers. Those individuals will receive the vaccine first, according to the state’s vaccine distribution plan.

Every hospital in the state will receive some of the initial 170,000 doses. Cuomo said, whether or not the hospital has the special freezers. The state also opted into a federal program where CVS and Walgreens pharmacy employees will administer the vaccine for nursing home residents and employees. Part of the state’s initial vaccine allocation will go toward that initiative and will be enough to vaccinate all nursing home residents.
