According to the latest study from Johns Hopkins that was released on Thursday, new coronavirus cases have dropped overall by 35% since their peak on January 11.

Daily cases have also gone down to around 260,000 from 250,000 and hospitalization numbers are looking good as well.

The COVID Tracking Project reported Wednesday that the hospitalization numbers dropped from 130,000 3 weeks ago to 107,000.

In other news, there have been new COVID strains from South Africa and the UK that have been introduced to the US. So far there is no data showing that they are more deadly and the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines seem to be working just as well against them.
