Confirmed: Hackers Sent Spam Emails From FBI Accounts

Yesterday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation acknowledged that hackers compromised its email servers to send spam messages. These spam emails have been sent from a legitimate email address ending in @ic.fbi.gov, and according to the FBI, this is an ongoing problem. Over 100,000 people have received these emails, which warned of a “cyberattack on their systems.” In a statement, the FBI said that the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency are aware of the incident.
