City of Rochester Shuts Down Main Street Armory

After the crowd surge that killed two people and injured eight others, the City of Rochester has prohibited Main Street Armory from hosting any public events. According to the city, they invited the Armory’s owner to attend a meeting yesterday, during which “he would have been presented with a choice to voluntarily cease holding entertainment events,” or have the “pending renewal” of the Armory’s entertainment license denied, but he declined to attend. In result, Police Chief David Smith signed an order denying the renewal application, effective immediately.
