Brothers Donald And Stephen Glover Set To Write Lucasfilm’s ‘Lando’ Series for Disney+

The Glover brothers, Donald and Stephen, are joining forces for the anticipated Lucasfilm “Lando” series on Disney+. Multiple sources have verified that Donald will be returning to his role as the youthful Lando Calrissian.
Previously, the Glovers worked together on the FX show “Atlanta” and the Primetime Emmy-nominated Amazon Prime series, “Swarm.” Stephen also wrote the script for another Amazon show, “Guava Island,” which featured his brother alongside singer, actress, and entrepreneur Rihanna.
Justin Simien, the original director, is being replaced by the brothers after allegedly leaving the project last summer to concentrate on the newly released “Haunted Mansion.”
It’s been almost three years since the announcement of a series focusing on Lando Calrissian.
Originally, the role of this legendary character was played by renowned actor Billy Dee Williams in “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.” The role was later taken over by the “This is America” rapper in the 2018 “Star Wars” prequel film “Solo.”
It’s worth noting that the Glovers committed to this series prior to the recent WGA strike, and they have abstained from any new work since writers began their protest last May.
