Imprisoned comedian, Bill Cosby, currently serving a 3- 10 year maximum sentence for sexual assault, has released a statement in support of the protestors. In his statement, released on IG by his publicist, Cosby talks about racial hatred and how the “establishment” is responsible for what is happening in the United States today.
Cosby’s son was murdered in 1997 by a teen quoted saying “I killed the ni–er,” after shooting Ennis Cosby. Camille Cosby, Ennis’ mother, was quoted saying during that time, “I believe America taught our son’s killer to hate African Americans.”
Recent events inspired Cosby and his team to release a statement urging readers to understand that systematic change is needed to instill any progress in this realm.
