Biden Administration Puts Together A Task Force To Reunite Families Separated At The Border Under Trump’s ‘Zero Tolerance’ Policy

Written by on February 2, 2021

President Joe Biden’s administration is beginning to put together a task force charged with auditing and rolling back some of the immigration policies put forward by the Trump administration.

This includes building a team dedicated to reuniting families and signing a migrant protection protocol.

The head of Homeland Security will be leading the team as they work to identify and reunite the children and parents that were separated at the border.

Officials will then file a report on how the families were separated in the first place, so that future administrations don’t make the same mistake again.

According to a statement from senior officials involved:

“The biggest challenge faced by the task force is continuing to identify the children and families that continue to be separated and then making recommendations to finally unite them.”
