Officials from the AHL and the NLL have announced that they will be delaying their season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The new season launch dates are as follows: the AHL is hoping to get started on February 5, 2021 and the NLL wants to resume on the weekend of April 9-11 2021.

Originally, in July, the Amerks and the Nighthawks were planning on their seasons beginning on December 4, although they normally start in October.

The press release said that the league is continuing to work with its member clubs to keep a close eye on developments and local guidelines in all 31 league cities.

The NLL is hoping that teams can report to training camps in March and begin their season the next month. Last year, the NLL season started in late November.
