Airlines Drop Change Fee’s In Hopes It Will Increase Air Travel

Written by on September 1, 2020

In an attempt to boost sales and help customers feel more inclined to travel, airline companies like United Airlines, Delta Air Lines and American Airlines have announced they will be waving change fees.

United CEO Scott Kirby released a video statement that said:

“It’s no secret that the coronavirus pandemic has had a historic economic impact on airlines. When we hear from customers about where we can improve, getting rid of this fee is often the top request.”

The decision to wave the $200 fee will be a permanent decision going forward according to officials. The new approach will hopefully boost demand for their service.

Passenger numbers are down 93% since the coronavirus and airlines are desperate to reduce losses.
