A Rochester Bike Share Program in the works

Written by on August 4, 2020

New York state recently passed legislation allowing for the use of electric bikes and scooters. Just in time for the Rochester City Counsel to look at and decide whether or not to authorize a bike share program. The program is called HOPR, and they have partnerships with cities around the country. The proposed plan starts with a piloting round in late August or September ending in winter. Covid-19 is cited as the reason for holding off the actual launch until Spring.

Bicycles and scooters–even the electric ones, are great alternatives to automobile transportation. They facilitate movement, which is super good for our bodies, and they don’t put any strain on the environment like the pollution that cars put out.
