Written by on July 20, 2020

A city council in Asheville North Carolina unanimously approved reparations for Black citizens apologizing for the city’s role in slavery.

The vote came down Tuesday night 7-0,
the city is not going to directly pay citizens money but instead they’re going to invest in neighborhoods that see racial disparities.
The city will form a Community Reparations Commission and they’ll figure out how those resources will be used.
