Hoverboard Battery Failure Causes Fire In Rochester

If still have one of those hoverboards be mindful that they do still pose as a fire and safety risk.
The fire at a home on Radio Street in Rochester was started because of the failure of a lithium-ion battery. The lithium battery was from a hoverboard.
So if you have one of the hoverboards around no matter if you use it or not please be aware that they can cause a fire.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. They had to rescue a man from the second floor who was treated and released from the hospital. Firefighters contained the fire and smoke damage to the second floor of the home.
