Community Calls For Transparency from RCSD on $1.1 Billion Budget

Written by on September 6, 2022

Over this past weekend, community members stood outside the Rochester City Board of Education demanding a say in where the school district uses its $1.1 billion dollar budget. Several parents are hoping for transparency as the school district has kept parents in the dark.

RCSD parent Robert Brown who attended the rally stated: “It’s about the children, it’s about the education, it’s about the future of America…We get the after-effects of all when things have been done and they tell us X amount of money has been put towards it. We don’t check-in, we cannot check into it…This is important to us because we have not seen enough change in the city. We have a lot of changes going on as far as at the top but we would like to see the type of changes that would directly affect the children and the quality of education.”
