NYS Speaks on Roe V. Wade

After the overturning of Roe V. Wade by the Supreme Court on Friday, New York State lawmakers are weighing in on the court’s decision. Despite SCOTUS the ruling, abortion remains legal in New York State and will continue to remain legal. Over the past several years, the state has passed legislation that expanded abortion rights, and Democratic Assemblyman Harry Bronson stated; “Prior to Roe v. Wade, New York passed a statute into law to authorize abortions, recognizing that there could be a change to Roe v. Wade in the future in 2019. We codified and proudly voted for a law that would place Roe v. Wade in constitution statutes into law.”
