Local Colleges Speak On COVID Requirements for Spring 2022

Written by on December 16, 2021

As the COVID-19 surge hits our county, many are concerned for college campuses as booster shots are not required on any local college campuses yet. According to SUNY officials (where Monroe Community College falls under), while vaccines are currently required for state schools, SUNY has no plans to mandate boosters at this time. As for other colleges in our area, they are able to make their own recommendations.

Roberts Wesleyan College, which is a private institution, does not require students or staff to be vaccinated. However, vaccine clinics are available on campus, and anyone who wishes to visit campus must provide a negative test. Other schools such as U of R and St John Fisher are encouraging their students to receive the booster, but no one in our area is mandating it at this time.
