With the holiday season only being about two weeks away, Monroe County leaders are encouraging locals to get vaccinated against COVID-19, as well as taking advantage of at-home testing. Recently, the county has purchased 750,000 kits, each containing 2 tests. 500,000 tests have been provided for towns, while the other 250,000 are reserved for school districts.
Monroe County Executive Adam Bello stated: “We are in a state of emergency. We need to come together as a community to fight this because we have the tools to fight this. So I’m asking for the community’s help today. You know what to do, so let’s all hold hands and do it together. Vaccinate, test, and wear masks.”
