William Shanter is Headed to Space, Actually

Captain James T. Kirk, aka 90-year-old actor William Shanter, is ready for take-off as he is headed for space. Shanter will be joining the crew of Blue Origin’s New Shepard. The spaceflight is scheduled to launch a week from today, on Tuesday, October 12th. William Shanter took to Twitter to share his exciting news:

Shanter is part of a crew of four, that includes Planet Labs co-founder Chris Boshuizen, and Medidata co-founder Glen de Vries, who the Blue Origin refers to as both customers and astronauts, which is the reflection of the new era of privatized space travel.
