Written by on December 19, 2020

The Rochester City School District just announced a three tiered plan to re-open in January.

According to superintendent Lesli Meyers-Small, each phase will affect different students:

“As you know we have had a school year like none other,” Myers-Small said. “Being in the midst of a pandemic and working to move forward to do what’s in the best interest of student staff and families has continually been the forefront of my mind.We are allowing staff between now and January 4 to visit classrooms in these schools to make sure they’re set up and configured according to CDC guidelines.”

Of the whole district, 30% chose hybrid or in-person models and 70% (17,271 student who have selected remote, undecided or haven’t responded) have opted for the remote model.
