What would you do if you found a boat washed up on your shore with packages of cocaine? I’m talking 1,430 pounds of cocaine.
That really happened last week on the Marshall Islands a fiberglass “ghost boat” washed ashore with hidden packages of cocaine. The packages were in a secret compartment on the boat. There are some theories about where the boat came from one of which was abandoned when smugglers were in danger of being caught. Another theory is drug smugglers were caught in a storm and abandoned the boat.
The estimated value of the cocaine is $80 million. Law enforcement said the boat could have been out in the Pacific Ocean for a year to a couple of years.
People who live on other islands in the same vicinity say boats washing up with packages of cocaine is common. This boat that washed up last week was a record amount of cocaine. Authorities incinerated all of the packages of drugs they found on the boat.
