Reggae Legend Frederick “Toots” Hibbert Has Passed Away

Frederick “Toots” Hibbert, lead singer of Toots and the Maytals has passed away in Kingston, Jamaica at the age of 77.
The band released a statement about the singer’s passing on Instagram and Facebook that read:
“It is with the heaviest of hearts to announce that Frederick Nathaniel “Toots” Hibbert passed away peacefully tonight, surrounded by his family at the University Hospital of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica.”
The cause of death has not yet been released, but sources say Hibbert tested positive for coronavirus sometime within the last two weeks and was placed in intensive care.
His amazing talent and electrifying performances will be sorely missed.
